
Ladyjacks Fall to Northwestern State

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Northwestern State, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the SFA Tennis Courts. The Ladyjacks are now 3-6 (.333) on the season and 1-1 (.500) in the Southland Conference.
For the second consecutive day the Ladyjacks won the doubles point. Junior Robin Houston teamed up with freshman Laura Harrison to win at No. 1 doubles and sophomore Megan Langston and freshman Kama Scott defeated the Lady Demons' Magali VanDenBergh and Camila Prudo, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles.
Houston gave the Ladyjacks a 2-0 lead when she knocked off the Lady Demons' Eliza Young, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. But Northwestern State rallied winning the final five singles matches of the afternoon.
The Ladyjacks return to action Thursday when they travel to San Marcos to take on Texas State. The match against the Bobcats is slated to get underway at 2 p.m.
