
Ladyjacks Beat Lamar

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks tennis team defeated Lamar, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the SFA Tennis Complex. The Ladyjacks are now 5-8 (.385) on the season and 2-4 (.333) in Southland Conference play.
The Ladyjacks earned wins at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to take a 1-0 lead. Junior Robin Houston and freshman Laura Harrison added to the Ladyjacks lead with their victories at Nos. 1and 2 singles, respectively. After Lamar picked up wins at Nos. 3 and 4 singles to cut the lead to, 3-2, junior Emily Voss stepped up to the put the match away with her 7-5, 6-2, win over Kendall Gibbs at No. 5 singles. Freshman Kama Scott also added a victory at No. 6 singles for SFA.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday when they host Texas-Arlington. The match against the Lady Mavericks is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
