
Ladyjacks Rally to Beat Northwestern State

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team improved to 15-17 on the season and 6-6 in Southland Conference play Sunday afternoon when they came from behind to beat Northwestern State, 4-2.
The Ladyjacks were trailing 2-1 in the bottom half of the sixth inning when they loaded the bases for sophomore Lee Lara, and she delivered. Lara doubled to left-centerfield driving in three runs to give SFA a 4-2 advantage. Lara finished the game going 1-for-2 with three RBIs.
The Ladyjacks' Crissy Autry completed another stellar performance for who pitched seven innings for the victory. Autry surrendered only one earned run on three hits and struck out 10 batters.
Sophomore Carrie Woydziak was 2-for-3 on the afternoon with a run scored, while senior Jamie Brown went 1-for-3 in the leadoff spot with two runs scored.
The Ladyjacks return to action Wednesday when they travel to Ruston, La., for a doubleheader with Louisiana Tech. The first game of the doubleheader is slated to get under way at 5 p.m.
