NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks got 12 points and a game high eight rebounds from Dedrick Sanders as SFA handed Northwestern State a 69-59 loss in the coliseum. The win runs the 'Jacks home court winning streak to 29 straight games and moves SFA to 18-8 overall and 9-6 in the Southland Conference.
The 'Jacks started sluggishly but overcame a terrible shooting first half to take a 31-27 lead in at the half. SFA then got the first four points of the second half in stretching the lead to eight and never was seriously challenged again. SFA led by as many as 15 points in the second half of play.
Sanders led the team with 12 points while Rodrigo Segantim and Marcus Clark added 11 each. Antonio Burks also had 10 for SFA. Jermaine Wallace led Northwestern State with 13 points. The Demons fall to 10-16 overall and 7-8 in SLC play.
SFA closes the regular season Friday in San Marcos against Texas State.
