Crystal Chang Leads Heptathlon at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Sophomore Crystal Chang is leading the heptathlon with 3,035 points after the first day of competition at the Texas A&M Multis and Relays. Chang recorded a personal record in three of the four events competed Thursday afternoon.
Chang cleared a height of 5-4.50 to finished second in the high jump. She also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.75. Chang is currently 60 points ahead of LSU's Megan Akre.
Senior Justin Connell scored 2,747 points in the Gold Division of the decathlon and is currently sixth after the first day. Connell recorded fifth-place finishes in the 100-meter dash (11.00) and the long jump (23-00.00). Sophomore Bo Simpson scored 3,273 points Thursday in the Bronze Division of the decathlon.
SFA returns to action Friday for the final day of competition in the decathlon and heptathlon. The events get under way at 10 a.m.
