
Ladyjacks Fall to Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Texas State, 4-3, Thursday afternoon. The Ladyjacks are now 3-7 (.300) on the season and 1-2 (.333) in Southland Conference play.
Trailing by one after the doubles play, junior Robin Houston tied the match at 1, with her 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, victory over Melanie Hall at No. 1 singles. Freshman Lauren Nowicki tied the match at 2 when she defeated the Bobcats Margaret Potyrala, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (4) at No. three singles. SFA needed two victories from the lower half of the singles lineup but could only muster one at No. 5 singles. Freshman Kama Scott recorded a 6-3, 6-4, win over Texas State's Gillian Derksen.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Friday to take on Texas-San Antonio. The match against the Roadrunners is slated to begin at 11 a.m., in San Antonio.
