INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team continues to receive national recognition for its success during the 2003 season. The Ladyjacks recorded a six-game turnaround in 2003, which ranked among the nation's top five single-season turnarounds.
The Ladyjacks were 7-9-4 (.450) in 2002 but second year head coach Nicole Nelson rallied her troops in 2003 to finish 15-5-2 (.727), which tied Appalachian State, Notre Dame, Oakland, UNC-Greensboro and Rice for the fifth-best turnaround in the country.
SFA set a school record for wins (15) and shutouts (nine) in 2003. The Ladyjacks won the Southland Conference Championship and made the program's first appearance in the NCAA Championships.
