
Burks Named to NABC All-District Team

NACOGDOCHES, Texas-- Stephen F. Austin senior forward Antonio Burks has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I All-District Team for District Nine. Burks, a senior from Texarkana, Ark., was a second team District Nine selection and is one of five Southland Conference players to be named to one of the 15 district teams.
The 6-5 senior is joined by UT-San Antonio's LeRoy Hurd on the District Nine second team. Southeastern Louisiana's Amir Abdur-Rahim and Nate Lofton along with Northwestern State's Jermaine Wallace were named to the District Eight squad.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across the country. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-American team to be announced at the conclusion of the basketball season.
Burks currently leads the Lumberjacks and is fifth in the Southland Conference in scoring with a 15.7 points per game average. He also leads the Southland Conference in three-point field goal percentage and entered the week second in the nation, connecting on 51.7 percent (62-120) of this three-point attempts.
