SFA Track & Field Competes at Bayou Bengal

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team traveled to Baton Rouge, La., Friday afternoon to compete in the Bayou Bengal Invitational. The Ladyjacks dominated the 400-meter dash placing four runners among the field's top seven, led by Jocelyn Stevens who finished second overall with a time of 59.36. Stevina Wyatt was fourth overall (59.84) followed by teammate Melody Tillman who finished seventh.
Junior Shametra Boykins finished fourth for SFA in the women's triple jump, recording a mark of 38-3.50. Senior Jennifer Schreiner recorded a third-place finish in the pole vault clearing a height of 11-1.75. The Ladyjacks 4X400-meter relay team also finished third posting a time of 4:03.53.
The Lumberjacks were led by senior high jumper Paul Todd who finished second at the meet when he cleared a height of 6-8.25. Scott Reid recorded a top-five finish for the Lumberjacks in the weight throw. Reid recorded a throw of 47-00.75.
The SFA men and women's track and field team will return to action Saturday when they travel to Houston, Texas for the Houston Indoor Invitational. The meet will be the team's final warm-up before the Southland Conference Indoor Championships.
