
Ladyjacks Fall to Texas State in SLC Final

BEAUMONT, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team fell one win short of earning the Southland Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, losing to No. 2 seed Texas State, 3-1 (30-18, 30-22, 19-30, 30-23). The Ladyjacks finish the season 26-6 (.813) overall.
The Ladyjacks fell behind 2-0 heading into halftime, but came roaring out of the gates in the third game winning, 30-19. Senior Brittany Burton led the way with 13 kills and three blocks. Junior Amelia Mayeaux added 10 kills and five blocks to help SFA pull to within a game.
Texas State fought right back in game four. Elizabeth Nwoke led the Bobcats with 17 kills as the No. 2 seed held on for 30-23 win in game three to take the match.
Sophomore Stephanie Figgers finished the night with a team-high 25 digs while JJ Jones led SFA with 42 assists.
