
Ladyjack Receives Conference Honor

PLANO, Texas - Senior middle blocker Brittany Burton was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week announced league officials Monday afternoon. It is the sixth player of the week honor for Burton in her career but the first defensive honor.
Burton helped the Ladyjacks push their win streak to 17 consecutive with her performance. Burton led all Southland Conference players with 20 blocks (2.0 blocks per game). She also recorded 34 kills in the Ladyjacks three wins last week as SFA won a share of the Southland Conference regular-season title.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Saturday in the semifinals of the SLC Tournament. The Ladyjacks will face the winner of the No. 4 Texas-San Antonio versus No. 5 McNeese State match. The Ladyjacks semifinal match will begin at 7 p.m.
