Ladyjack Receives Academic Honor

NACOGDOCHES - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack outside hitter Lauren Stevens was named to the 2004-05 Academic All-District At-Large second team announced the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday morning.
Stevens was one of 68 athletes that was nominated from District VI and is one of only two athletes from the Southland Conference that was named to one of the three teams. Student-athletes must be a starter or primary reserve for their team and carry a minimum of a 3.2 grade-point average to be nominated for the honor. Stevens was one of only six athletes to be named to one of the three teams with at least a 4.0 GPA.
Stevens and the Ladyjacks return to action Friday night when they host McNeese State. The match against the Cowgirls is slated to begin at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
