
SFA-McNeese State Matchup Among Nation's Best

The Stephen F. Austin - McNeese State football game on Nov. 8 was recently voted the I-AA football game of the week in an online poll conducted by I-AA.org. Over 14,000 votes were cast in the online poll ranking the top I-AA matchups each week throughout the season and the meeting between two of the top teams in the Southland Conference was the favorite of fans for week 11.
The survey began in February with an informal nomination process from any fan that visited the site. From those nominees, a list of potential games of the week was formulated for the poll which began June 1. After the balloting closed on June 30, over 14,000 verified, individual votes were cast and counted.
SFA and McNeese State meet in Lake Charles, La. on the evening of Nov. 8 and was tabbed as the best I-AA football game of the week by voters with 21.8 percent of the ballots cast. The second place game was the Furman at Georgia Southern meeting in Statesboro, Ga. with 18 percent of the vote.
Voters also picked the SFA-Northern Iowa meeting in the fourth week of the season as the fourth best game of the day garnering just under seven percent of the vote, and the regular season finale between the 'Jacks and Demons of Northwestern State was also listed among fan favorites for the final week of the regular season.
