Ana Rodriguez Finishes 21st at NCAAs

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack track and field team continued competition at the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Wednesday evening in the distance events. Sophomore Ana Rodriguez competed in the 5,000-meter run.
Rodriguez ran a strong race recording a a new school record with her time of 16:54.09 in the event to finish 21st overall. Rodriguez wraps up a 2003 season that saw her win five Southland Conference individual titles, earn SLC Cross Country Female Athlete of the Year honors and guide the Ladyjacks to a SLC cross country and outdoor track and field team title.
Sophomore Shametra Boykins will open competition in the triple jump Thursday evening. The event is slated to get underway at 7:15 p.m.
