
Ladyjack Receives League Honor

PLANO, Texas - Senior Amy Collins (San Antonio, Texas) was named Southland Conference player of the week Saturday announced league officials. It was the first award for SFA this season.
Collins helped lead the Ladyjacks to two victories to close out the 2002-03 season, earning the league's No.-2 seed in the Southland Conference Championship tournament. Collins recorded her best game of the season with a 20-point, 10-rebound and four-block effort against Louisiana-Monroe. She followed that up with an 11-point, nine-rebound and three-block effort in the win over Northwestern State Friday night. For the week Collins averaged 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. She also added four assists and a steal.
The Ladyjacks return to action Thursday when they will host a semifinal game of the 2003 Southland Conference Championships presented by AudioVox. The Ladyjacks opponent will be decided by the outcomes of the first-round games. The semifinal game is scheduled to tipoff at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
