
Ladyjacks Place Three on the All-SLC Team

PLANO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team placed seniors Nathesia Wright (Arlington, Texas), Amy Collins (San Antonio, Texas) and freshman LaToya Mills (Houston, Texas) on the All-Southland Conference teams announced league officials Monday.
Wright earned second-team recognition finishing third on the team in scoring (9.7 points per game) and rebounding (4.7 rebounds per game). Wright led the team in steals, recording 43 in her final season with the Ladyjacks. She was also the 21st Ladyjack to record 1,000-career points. Wright is currently 17th all-time in school history 1,206 points. It is Wright's third all-conference honor.
Collins was named to the All-SLC third team after a season where she finished fourth on the team in scoring (9.2 ppg), second on the team and ninth in the conference in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and led the team and conference in blocks (3.3 pg). Her 3.3 blocks per game average also places her among the nation's top 10. Collins became the SFA single-game (8), single-season (89) and career (173) leader in blocks in her final season.
Mills was named league freshman of the year and also earned third honors. She finished second on the team and 12th in the SLC at 10.1 points per game. Mills also led the team and finished fourth in the conference with 7.7 rebounds per game. She also finished the season fourth in the SLC in field-goal percentage (.443) and third in offensive rebounds (3.65 pg).
The Ladyjacks will be in action Thursday night at the William R. Johnson Coliseum when they host a semifinal game in the Southland Conference Championships presented by AudioVox. The game is slated to tipoff at 7 p.m.
