NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team, winners in eight of its last 10 games, will continue its three-game Southland Conference road trip Thursday in Arlington, Texas, to take on the Mavericks. The game is slated to tipoff at 7:05 p.m., from Texas Hall. The Ladyjacks will then travel to Lake Charles, La., for a Saturday showdown against McNeese State. The game against Cowgirls is slated to begin 5:30 p.m., from the Burton Coliseum.
SFA vs. the Mavericks: The Ladyjacks have dominated the series against Texas-Arlington, owning a 39-3 (.929) all-time record. SFA has won 17 of the last 18, including the last eight consecutive meetings. The Ladyjacks defeated the Mavericks, 57-56, earlier this season in the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
SFA vs. the Cowgirls: The Ladyjacks are 34-3 (.917) all-time against McNeese State. The Ladyjacks have won 29 of the last 30 meetings between the two teams, including the last 13 straight. The Ladyjacks defeated McNeese State by the score of 59-51 at the William R. Johnson Coliseum earlier this season.
Tradition of Winning: The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball program has been one of the most dominant in women's basketball history. The Ladyjacks are among the nation's all-time top 10 with 722 wins. The Ladyjacks are also among the all-time top 10 with a .753 winning percentage (722-237).
Tradition of Winning in the SLC: As dominant as the Ladyjacks have been nationally, they have been just as dominant in the Southland Conference. The Ladyjacks have been the conference's most dominant team, compiling a 242-22 (.917) all-time record. SFA has won 14 of a possible 15 SLC tournament titles and 13 regular-season championships. The Ladyjacks have also recorded four undefeated seasons in league play and have had 33 players named All-SLC.
Looking Ahead ... The Ladyjacks return to the friendly confines of the William R. Johnson Coliseum when they host Nicholls State Thursday Feb. 13th. The game is slated to begin at 8:15 p.m. The Ladyjacks will back on the court Saturday for the rematch with Southeastern Louisiana. The game against the Lady Lions is slated to begin at 6:15 p.m.
