
SFA to Face In-State Foes

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team will place their two-game win streak on the line Thursday in Beaumont, Texas. The Ladyjacks will try to get back to the .500 mark when they face the Cardinals in a 4 p.m., showdown at the Montagne Center. The Ladyjacks will travel to Huntsville, Texas, Saturday to face rival Sam Houston State. The game against the Bearkats is slated to tipoff at 4 p.m., from the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
SFA vs. the Cardinals The Ladyjacks own a 34-2 (.944) all-time record against Lamar. SFA has won 30 of the last 31 meetings between the two teams, including the last eight consecutive. The Ladyjacks defeated Lamar, 63-38, last month in the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
SFA vs. the Bearkats The Ladyjacks are 51-3 (.944) all-time against Sam Houston State. The Ladyjacks have won the last seven consecutive games and 37 of the last 39 against the Bearkats. The Ladyjacks recorded a 77-69 win in Nacogdoches earlier this season against SHSU.
Tradition of Winning The SFA Ladyjack basketball program has been one of the most dominant in women's basketball history. The Ladyjacks are among the nation's all-time top 10 with 724 wins. The Ladyjacks are also among the all-time top 10 with a .752 winning percentage (724-239).
Tradition of Winning in the SLC As dominant as SFA has been nationally, they have been just as dominant in the Southland Conference. The Ladyjacks are the conference's most dominant team, compiling a 244-24 (.910) all-time record. SFA has won 14 of a possible 15 SLC tournament titles and 13 regular-season titles. SFA has also recorded four undefeated seasons in league play and has had 33 players named All-SLC.
Advancing With the victory over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday, the Ladyjacks guaranteed themselves a spot in the SLC Championships.
Looking Ahead ... The Ladyjacks return home Thursday Feb. 27th, for the rematch with Texas-San Antonio. The game is slated to tipoff at 6 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum. SFA returns to action two days later when they travel to San Marcos, Texas, to take on Southwest Texas. The game against the Bobcats is slated to get underway at 5:45 p.m., from Strahan Coliseum.
