
Three Ladyjacks Receive League Honor

PLANO, Texas - Junior Sarah Johnson and sophomores Kim Gray and Jamie Ronca were named 2003 Academic All-Southland Conference announced league officials Wednesday afternoon. Gray and Ronca earned first-team honors while Johnson was named to the second team.
Gray is a two-time All-Southland Conference selection and a three-time conference defensive player of the week honoree who was a key figure on the Ladyjacks record-setting defense. She helped the Ladyjacks record nine shutouts victories on their way to the their first NCAA tournament appearance.
Ronca is a two-time SLC Defensive Player of the Week that earned honorable mention all-conference honors in 2003. She was also a leader on the Ladyjacks' defense that set a school-record nine shutouts and advanced to its first-ever NCAA Championships.
Johnson was a team co-captain for the 2003 Ladyjack squad that won a school-record 15 games and advanced to its first-ever NCAA Championship. Johnson earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a junior and is among the school's all-time top 10 in points and goals.
