Crews with J.E. Kingham Construction Company worked through the Christmas and New Year's holidays on the new pressbox renovation and expansion project at the stadium. The crews are nearing completion of the demolition phase of the project and are now busy building foundation forms and pouring foundation footings for parts of the new project.
In the foreground of the accompanying photo, the back wall of a new elevator shaft and entryway can be seen. Workers on the top of the berm are working to prepare the footing of a walking bridge that will link the elevator shaft and the new press box.
Work on the propsed $3.2 million project will continue through the spring and summer with completion of the project expected in late August or early September.
The bottom level of the new press box will contain approximately 130 seats in a variety of luxury box settings. The top level of the facility will house coaches, workers, and members of the media.
