NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) - Percy Green scored 25 points and B.J. Banks added 20 as Stephen F. Austin used an 8-0 run in overtime to beat Sam Houston State 77-70 on Saturday.
After a turnover by SFA (11-3, 7-0 Southland) in regulation, Sam Houston's Donald Cole hit a shot with 27 seconds left, tying the score at 68. SFA mishandled the ball with four seconds left and didn't get a shot off.
In overtime, Banks hit a 3-pointer with 2:34 to go, putting the Lumberjacks ahead to stay at 73-70. Stevin Ozier and Marcus Clark added two free throws each.
SFA led 68-60 with 3:10 to go in regulation, but the Bearkats (9-5, 6-2) scored eight straight points. Jason Stephenson hit a 3-pointer with 1:28 left, and Robert Shannon's 3-point play with 47 seconds left cut SFA's lead to 68-66.
It was the Lumberjacks' 10th straight victory and snapped a string of eight straight SFA losses to Sam Houston State.
Ozier had 10 rebounds for SFA, which outrebounded Sam Houston 38-35.
