Benestante Named SLC Player of the Week

PLANO, Texas - Sophomore outside hitter Joanna Benestante (Houston, Texas) was named Southland Conference defensive player of the week announced the league office Monday afternoon.
Benestante recorded two double-doubles over the weekend, leading SFA to a 1-2 record in the TCU Invitational. She recorded 35 kills and led the team with 39 digs in the three matches. She also added five total blocks. SFA is 5-5 (.500) on the season.
The Ladyjacks will host Sam Houston State Tuesday night at the William R. Johnson Coliseum in the Ladyjacks 2002 SLC and home opener. The match is slated to get underway at 7 p.m. Admission is free to students.
