Tompkins Earns Special Teams Player of the Week Honors

Tony Tompkins, a freshmen running back from Port Arthur, was selected as the Southland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week this week, following SFA's 55-7 win over Henderson State. In the game, Tompkins returned six punts for 111 yards, including a 59-yard return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Tompkins averaged 18.9 yards per return for the game, and is averaging 12.9 yards per return for the season.

The 5-8, 165-pound tailback also scored two rushing touchdowns in the game on carries of 13 and 26-yards. on the night, Tompkins had 10 carries for 89 yards.

The 'Jacks travel to Northern Iowa to take on the Panthers this week.
