Ladyjacks Fall to San Jose State Jennifer Wilson/Deborah Kirkham named to all-tournament team
FT. WORTH, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team lost to San Jose State, 3-1 (26-30, 30-27, 30-21, 30-25), Saturday afternoon on the final day of the TCU Invitational. The Ladyjacks are now 5-5 (.500) on the season.
SFA jumped out to a 1-0 lead over the Spartans behind senior Angie Wood's (Houston, Texas) 18 kills. Senior Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas) added 10 kills but the SJSU offense was to strong as four players recorded double-figure kills led by Kimberly Noble's 21. Sophomore Joanna Benestante (Houston, Texas) recorded nine kills and led the Ladyjacks with 13 digs.
Wilson and sophomore Deborah Kirkham (Houston, Texas) were named to the TCU Invitational all-tournament team.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday when they open the home and Southland Conference portion of their schedule against Sam Houston State. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
