
'Jacks Add New Mexico Transfer For 2002

Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack head football coach Mike Santiago announced today the addition of a transfer defensive back to the 2002 squad. Roderick Palmer, a transfer from the University of New Mexico, and a Cedar Hill High School product will enroll at the university and play for the 'Jacks this fall.
Palmer spent the 2001 season in Albuquerque, New Mexico as part of the Lobo football team. He redshirted last season and will have four years of eligibility remaining with the Lumberjacks.
A two-sport letterwinner at Cedar Hill, Palmer was a two-time All-District selection and was also a member of the Best Southwest Team as a senior. The 5-11, 180 pounder also lettered in track, finishing third in the long jump at the state track meet as a senior.
While at New Mexico, Palmer also set the New Mexico football record with a vertical leap of 42.5 inches.
