The Ladyjacks are headed to the their 15th consecutive NCAA tournament, and 16th overall, as the NCAA West Region's No. 13 seed. Texas Tech is the region's No. 4 seed. It will be the first time the two schools have met on the court since the 1998-99 season when Texas Tech walked away with a 80-54 victory in the first round of the tournament.
"I'm not disappointed with the fact that we are a No. 13 seed," said SFA head coach Lee Ann Riley. "I like the fact that we are playing in the state of Texas so that some of our fans can be at the game. We are going to play a program that has a tremendous reputation, is a really good team and they have a lot of fan support. It's an uphill battle but we are excited about the challenge."
If the Ladyjacks advance past the Lady Raiders, they will face the winner of the No. 5 Boston College/No. 12 Mississippi State game. The exact dates and game times will be released at a later date.
