BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - Tyler Hackstadt scored 19 points and Damany Hendrix made four free throws in the final seconds Thursday night to give Lamar a 65-62 victory over Stephen F. Austin.
Lamar (12-11, 9-7 Southland) took the lead for good on a jumper by Ron Austin with 15:34 left in the first half, but had to withstand late rally by Stephen F. Austin.
A 7-0 run cut the lead to 61-59 with 24 seconds left. Hendrix made two free throws and Stevin Ozier countered for the Lumberjacks with a 3-pointer with less than two seconds to go to make it 63-62.
Stephen F. Austin (10-12, 7-8) was hit with the technical for calling a timeout with no timeouts left and Hendrix made two more free throws for the final margin.
Austin had 17 points for Lamar.
Percy Green led Stephen F. Austin with 18 points.
