'Jacks Lose Heartbreaker To Northwestern State, 42-35

Northwestern State jumped out to an early 21-0 lead over the Lumberjacks Saturday afternoon before having to score in the final minute of play to best SFA, 42-35. The 'Jacks rallied back and eventually took the lead 28-21 with just over four minutes remaining in the third quarter.
SFA scored its first touchdown of the game on a 22-yard return of a blocked punt by Ryan Luedecke. SFA came back and scored another TD with 1:01 to play in the first half on a 10-yard Zeke Dixon to Anthony Dingle pass.
Northwestern State came back to tie the score at 28-28 with 4:49 to play in the fourth quarter following an SFA fumble inside its own 20-yard line. Jeremy Lofton capped the four play 18-yard drive on a 1-yard run to knot the score at 28-28. SFA came back and regained the lead 35-28 with 2:39 to play when Kevin Landry caught a four yard touchdown pass from Zeke Dixon. Landry had just rumbled 42-yards to the Demon 8-yard line to set up the score.
The Demons tied the game at 35-35 with 1:11 to play then scored the game winner on the following possession when Bryan McMillian intercepted Dixon's pass and returned it 25-yards for the touchdown and the 42-35 win.
Dixon ended the night 20-35-1 for 265 uards and two touchdowns. Anthony Dingle cought four passes for 85-yards and one touchdown.
S Brent Hafford led all defenders in the game with 21 stops. Nick Trotter also added 16 tackles and Aubrey Brisendine finished the night with 12 tackles and one tackle for a loss.
SFA ends the year at 6-5, 3-3 in SLC play.
