
Three Ladyjacks Named All-SLC

PLANO, Texas - Seniors Sunni Williams (Houston, Texas), Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas) and Angie Wood (Houston, Texas) were named to the 2002 All-Southland Conference team announced league officials Thursday.
Wilson was the Ladyjacks lone first-team selection. She led the team in kills (473) and blocks (138). She was also listed among the league's top 10 in both categories. Earlier this season, she became the 10th Ladyjack, and the second this season, to record 1,000 kills. Wilson's name also appears on the school's career lists for block solos, block assists and total blocks.
Wood was named to the All-SLC third team for the second consecutive season. She is currently second on the team with 458 kills. Wood's 3.66 kills per game currently places her eighth in the Southland Conference. Wood was the ninth Ladyjacks to record 1,000 kills. She also finished the regular season third in the SLC with 0.44 service aces per game.
Williams received an honorable-mention honor. The Ladyjacks' team captain, Williams finished fifth in the league with 11.21 assists per game. Earlier this season, Williams became only the sixth Ladyjack to record 1,000 career assists. Her 1,446 assists this season places her sixth on the school's all-time single-season list.
The Ladyjacks open the Southland Conference tournament Friday against Southeastern Louisiana. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
