BEAUMONT, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team was defeated by Lamar, 3-1 (30-16, 29-31, 30-20, 30-24), Saturday night in Beaumont. The Ladyjacks are now 17-10 overall and 11-5 in the Southland Conference.
After dropping game one, 30-16, SFA battled right back to tie the match at 1-1 heading into the halftime. Senior Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas) was the only Ladyjack to record double-figure kills, finishing the night with 18. She also added five blocks. But the Ladyjacks struggled offensively recording an .071 attack percentage as a team.
The Cardinals were led by Natalie Sarver's 19 kills and 14 digs. Teammate Alison Tuttle added 17 kills in the victorious effort.
The Ladyjacks return to Nacogdoches Tuesday for a non-conference match-up against Rice. The match against the Owls is slated to get underway at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
