NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (30-25, 30-17, 30-21) victory over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday afternoon at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Ladyjacks are now 16-9 overall and 10-4 in the Southland Conference.
SFA fed off attacks of sophomore Brittany Burton (Livingston, Texas) and junior Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas). Burton finished the match with 13 kills on 19 attacks, and only one attack error (.632 attack percentage). Wilson was not too far behind with her 14 kills on 22 attacks (.500 attack percentage). Senior Sunni Williams (Houston, Texas) set the stage for SFA with her match-high 37 assists.
The Ladyjack defense never allowed Louisiana-Monroe to get into any kind of rhythm. ULM only hit .139 for the match and didn't have one player record double-figure kills.
The Ladyjacks return to action Friday November 1, against McNeese State. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m., from Memorial Gym in Lake Charles, La.
