NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Fans of the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack and Ladyjack basketball teams will have a chance to get in free for the remainder of the season with the return of the "Beat The Buzzer" promotion.
Any fan entering the William R. Johnson Coliseum more than 30 minutes prior to tip will receive a free admission to that evening's game. Dates on which a doubleheader is played, any fan entering the coliseum more than 30 minutes prior to the start of the first game will receive the free admission.
"We are aware that there are a number of fans out there who would like to come to more of our games, but with so many demands being made on a family's entertainment dollar, it goes just so far. We want to give everyone in the Lufkin-Nacogdoches area every opportunity to see as many SFA basketball games as possible for the remainder of the year. This worked very well last year, therefore we will bring it back for the remainder of the Southland season," said Gregg Fort, associate athletic director for external affairs at Stephen F. Austin.
The promotion starts with the Thursday, January 31 game with Nicholls State. Any fan arriving more than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the game will be admitted free of charge. This is also in effect for doubleheaders, with those fans arriving more than 30 minutes prior to the start of the first game receiving free admission.
There are seven Lumberjack home dates remaining in 2002, with the Ladyjacks scheduled for six remaining dates in the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
