VOLLEYBALL AND SOCCER GAMES CANCELLED

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin athletic director Steve McCarty announced this morning the cancellation of tonight's scheduled Ladyjack volleyball game with Louisiana Tech University.
"In light of the events this morning in New York and Washington, we have been in touch with officials at Louisiana Tech University and have decided to cancel tonight's volleyball game. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims of this tragic event," said McCarty.
SFA had originally been scheduled to host Louisiana Tech tonight at 7:00 p.m. in a non-conference volleyball match. The Lumberjack golf team has also cancelled plans to play this weekend in a golf tournament hosted by Yale University, in Connecticut.
Tomorrow's scheduled women's soccer game with Rice University has also been postponed at this time. No make-up date has been set, but a possible make-up date could be scheduled later this week.
At this time, no other events have been cancelled or postponed. A decision on Saturday's scheduled football game with Northern Iowa will be made later in the week.
