Ladyjacks Picked to Finish Fifth

The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team has been picked to finish fifth in a poll of the league coaches released by the Southland Conference Thursday.
The Ladyjacks received 37 points to finish one point ahead of Louisiana-Monroe (36). McNeese State received 39 points finishing two points ahead of the Ladyjacks for fourth place. Defending league champion Northwestern State was selected to repeat as conference champion, receiving 11 first-place votes and 83 total points.
The Ladyjacks kick-off the 2001 season on Friday Aug. 31, against Arkansas State. The match is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m., from Jonesboro, Ark.
