Ladyjack Volleyball Places Three on All-Conference Team

Nacogdoches - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team landed three players on the preseason All-Southland Conference team announced the Southland Conference Sunday.
Senior middle blocker Kristy Rhodes (Houston, Texas) was the Ladyjacks lone representative on the first team. Senior setter Marissa Dorcheus (Houston, Texas) and junior middle blocker Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas) received second-team honors.
Rhodes led the Ladyjacks last season in kills (362), kills per game (5.17), attack percentage (.322) and total blocks (66). Rhodes was the only Ladyjack during the 2000 season to record double-figure solo blocks (10). Dorcheus led the Ladyjacks with 999 assists (14.27 assist per game) as a junior and was second on the team with 180 digs. Wilson was second on the team with 177 kills and 63 total blocks.
The Ladyjacks open up the regular season Aug. 31, against Houston in the Rice Tournament. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. from Houston, Texas.
