Texas - Louisiana Border Challenge Saturday At Homer Bryce Stadium

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin track and field program will host the inaugural Texas-Louisiana Border Challenge track meet at Homer Bryce Stadium Saturday afternoon. Teams from Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State University will represent Texas in the event, with teams from Northwestern State, the University of Louisiana-Monroe, Southeastern Louisiana and McNeese State University representing Louisiana.
The top three finishers in each event will receive points for their respective states.
Field events will begin with the women's pole vault at 2:30, with the running events scheduled to begin with the 4x100 yard relay at 5:00 p.m.
Pole vaulters Adam Keul and Misty Ballard will highlight the field events, as the two NCAA Indoor qualifiers prepare for the SLC Championships to be held next week in Arlington.
The men's 800-meter run could also be a preview of things to come at next week's conference championship with three of the top 800-meter runners in the SLC competing.
Admission to the event is free.
