JOB TITLE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SPORTS INFORMATION
START DATE July 1, 2001
JOB DESCRIPTION: Full time 12-month position responsible for the coordination of all publicity matters for eight NCAA Division I women's sports, while serving as the liaison between the media and all athletic staff and student-athletes. Duties include writing, editing and producing media guides, press releases, game programs, and statistical information. Assists in game day management of press row/table for home events. Performs related tasks as assigned by Sports Information Director.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of two year's experience at the collegiate level or equivalent experience in radio, television or newspaper reporting. Candidates must have sound written and verbal communication skills and experience in sports coverage. Competence with Macintosh computers, desktop publishing and statistical software preferred. Working knowledge of radio and television helpful, radio play-by-play experience also desired.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
