SWT Sweeps Doubleheader

The Ladyjack softball team had their losing streak extended to five with two losses to Southwest Texas Saturday in San Marcos. SFA dropped both ends of the doubleheader by 4-0 scores.
Southwest Texas, ranked at number 22 in the latest nationwide poll, handed SFA their fourth and fifth straight losses after silencing the SFA bats.
The Ladyjacks mustered fiev hits inthe first game, and had a runner at third base in each of the first three innings, but could not push across a run. SFA loaded the bases in the top of the first innig with only one out, but failed to score.
Morgan Tolleson (5-4) allowed four runs on only seven hits. None of the Bobcat runs were earned.
In game two, Southwest Texas scored four runs on only five hits, benifting from two SFA errors. Southwest Texas pushed across a run in the bottom of the fifth inning tot ake a 1-0 lead into the sixth. SWT added three runs in the bottom of the sixth on the strength of a two-run homer off the bat of Kristy Gandy.
Kristin Nolan dropped to 2-2 on the season with the loss, pitching six innings, allowing five hits while striking out four and walking one.
