ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Steven Barber hit a 15-foot jumper with 2.5 seconds left Saturday afternoon to give Texas-Arlington a 63-61 victory over Stephen F. Austin.
Stephen F. Austin (9-15, 6-12 Southland) had led for most of the second half after taking a 36-35 lead on a layup by Ron Banks with 18:36 left. Texas-Arlington (13-12, 11-7) tied the score at 51-51 with 6:20 left on a 3-pointer by Barber, who finished with 26 points.
The Lumberjacks had a two-point lead with 35 seconds left on a pair of free throws by Banks but Barber tied that with two free throws of his own.
Jabari Johnson added 15 points for Texas-Arlington.
Banks led Stephen F. Austin with 23 points. Edwin Tatum scored 13 points, including nine in the second half, and Skip Jackson scored 10.
