Ladyjacks Lose at Conference Tournament
AN MARCOS, TEXAS -- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team lost, 1-0, in double overtime against Southwest Texas Friday night in the opening round of the Southland Conference Tournament.
It was a defensive struggle for both teams. Senior Elizabeth Evatt (Plano, Texas) held the Lady Bobcats throughout regulation and one overtime. But the Bobcats were able to net the gamewinner at the 117-minute, 50-second mark on a shot from Allison Crane. Evatt went the distance surrendering only one goal and recording 17 saves.
" I am extremely proud of these girls," said SFA head coach Lance Noble. "This match could have gone either way. I have coached over 250 games in my career and this one by far makes the top five."
With this match Evatt broke career saves record (114).
SFA concludes the season with a 10-8-1 overall record and a 6-6-0 conference record.
