NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team signed Adrianne Greene (Corpus Christi, Texas) and 5-10 Amelia Mayeaux (League City, Texas) to National Letters of Intent announced SFA head coach Debbie Humphreys Wednesday.
"We feel very good about this recruiting class," said Humphreys. "We needed middle blockers and we were able to sign two high-quality players."
Greene is a solid player who is skilled in all areas of the game. She earned first-team all-district honors and was named honorable-mention All-South Texas During her career at Flour Bluff High School.
"We are very excited to have Adrianne as a part of our program," said Humphreys. "She has very solid all-around skills, and a wonderful personality. She is a solid front or back row player."
Mayeaux is a highly decorated prepster who is a three-sport letterwinner at Clear Creek High School. She was a three-time team MVP as well as being named all-district.
"Amelia is a naturally gifted athlete, who will catch on to our system very quickly. She is a hard worker and a perfectionist. Amelia is capable of playing any position, but will start off training as a middle blocker," added Humphreys.
Both athletes are a success in the classroom as well. Greene has been named in the Who's Who Among High School Students and is a member of the National Honor Society. Mayeaux is also a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and Who's Who Among High School Students
