SFA Dominates SWT In 35-13 Win

Wes Pate moved into third place on the all-time passing list in SFA history as he moved past James Ritchey with a 417 yard passing effort in SFA's 35-13 win over Southwest Texas Saturday afternoon.
Pate was 24-31 on the afternoon for 417 yards and four touchdowns, he was intercepted once. WR Anthony Dingle was the favorite target of the Lumberjack signal caller as the junior from Tyler caught seven passes for 142 yards and one touchdown. Lawrence Hamilton also went over 100-yards receiving with five catches for 116 yards and one touchdown. Courtnee Garcia and Gary Turner also caught scoring passes for the 'Jacks.
The SFA defensive unit gave up 320 yards to the Bobcats, but allowed only 13 points. SWT scored their only touchdown on the afternoon on a 46-yard Josh McCauley to Lee Davis pass late in the second quarter.
SFA led 16-13 at halftime, but came out in the second half and dominated on both sides of the ball in scoring 19 unanswered second half points.
The 'Jacks travel to Northwestern State next Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. match-up with at least a share of the Southland Football League title on the line. The teams will also be playing in the annual "Battle For The Chief". Kick-off in Natchitoches in set for 2:00 p.m.
