Beaumont, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team fell to Lamar, 3-1 (19-30, 30-23, 30-28, 33-31), Saturday night. The Ladyjacks are now 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the Southland Conference.
The Ladyjacks looked strong with a 30-19 game-one victory but SFA was unable to keep the momentum going throughout the match. SFA was its own worst enemy recording 13 service aces and eight reception errors.
Junior Angie Wood (Houston, Texas) led the Ladyjacks with 19 kills on 45 attempts while senior Kristy Woods (Cypress, Texas) continued her hot play, recording 16 kills on 32 attempts (.344 percentage).
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday to take on Louisiana-Monroe. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Ladyjacks shutout ULM, 3-0, earlier this season.
