LUMBERJACK BASKETBALL HIRES STEVE LUTZ

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin head basketball coach Danny Kaspar has announced the hiring of Steve Lutz as an assistant coach with the program. Lutz comes to the program after spending the past season as an assistant coach at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas.
"I'm very excited to be able to add a young coach of Steve's caliber to the coaching staff. He brings so much excitement and energy to the program. Coach Lutz is also an excellent coach and recruiter, and will add a great deal to the program," said Kaspar.
The San Antonio native is a 1995 graduate of Texas Lutheran University where he was a team captain on the basketball team in 1995. Lutz also played one season at Ranger Junior College.
Following his playing career at Texas Lutheran, Lutz was a graduate assistant for Kaspar at Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Lutz attained a master's degree from Incarnate Word in 1997.
At SFA, Lutz will assist in all aspects of the program.
