Fans of the Stephen F. Austin men's and women's basketball teams can help the American Cancer Society battle cancer this season through a season long campaign. Coach Danny Kaspar of the Lumberjacks and Royce Chadwick of the Ladyjacks have joined the Coaches vs. Cancer program of the Cancer Society to help raise funds to battle the disease.
Both the Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks are taking part in the IKON Three Point Attack this season. Fans can pick up brochures at the front entrance of the Coliseum and sign up to take part in the program. Fans pledge an amount for each three pointer the respective teams make during the season.
Over the past three years, the Lumberjacks have averaged about 140 three-pointers per year. If an individual pledged $.25 per made field goal, the total donation would be about $35. The Ladyjacks have averaged about 90 three point field goals per season for the past three years as well.
The information and sign up brochures will be available at all home games and also in the basketball offices for the remainder of the season. Fans can sign up at any time during the season.
