Ladyjack Volleyball Holds Off Northwestern State 3-1

NATCHITOCHES, Louisiana -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack volleyball team defeated the Northwestern State Lady Demons 15-12, 15-4, 13-15, 15-11. The Ladyjacks are now 17-12 overall and 12-7 in Southland Conference play.
The Ladyjacks needed two hours to defeat the Lady Demons and 24 kills by junior, Kristy Rhodes. The Demons nearly forced a fifth game, charging froma 7-0 deficit to get within 12-9 and 14-11 in game four. The Ladyjacks survived thanks in part to 16 kills by Jennifer Wilson and 13 kills by Angie Wood. Rhodes had 16 digs to go along with her 24 kills.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Saturday, November 11, at the University of Louisiana-Monroe in Monroe, Louisiana. The match will begin at 3:00 PM. The Southland Conference Tournament will be held November 16-18, in Beaumont, Texas. The Ladyjack volleyball team has secured a fourth place seeding.
