Ladyjack Volleyball Defeats Louisiana-Monroe In Three

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack volleyball team opened the weekend with a win over 1-16, 0-9 University of Louisiana at Monroe. This win brought the Ladyjacks to 8-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
The Ladyjacks were led by junior, Kristy Rhodes and sophomore, Jennifer Wilson. Wilson, a middle blocker from Friendswood, Texas led her team with a hitting percentage of .714. At the net, Wilson had 11 kills, 14 total attempts and only one error for the match. Rhodes, also a middle blocker from Cypress, Texas, accumulated a hitting percentage of .677. Her 23 kills, 31 total attempts and only two errors made her a deadly force on the court. Wilson and Rhodes also had two block assists a piece at the net.
Others contributing to the win included junior, setter Marissa Dorcheus who helped her team with 46 assists and eight digs. Sophomore Sunni Williams and freshman Julie Goodson both had nine digs.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Saturday, October 7 at 7:00 PM in William R. Johnson Coliseum as they face the Northwestern State Demons.
