Katie comes to SFA with an abundance of awards under her belt. The daughter of Christi and Elmer Heady and sister to Sarah, graduated from Plano Senior High School in 2021 while participating in their varsity bowling program. While attending Plano Senior High School, Katie collected Dallas North A high school girls’ Newcomer of the Year her freshman year, along with capturing the Texas State USBC State Singles championship. Katie also received the David Dahm's Sportsmanship award in outside competition while in high school. She also took home a title in the Amateur Bowling Tour of Texas back in 2020. Katie had the honor of being named Miss Dallas Youth in 2021 along with Dallas North A high school Female Bowler of Year. She finished out a strong senior season in high school by being named to the Dexter All-American Team as well as a recipient of the Earl Anthony Scholarship while taking home the Texas High School State Team Championship. In 2022, Katie was named the USBC Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow.
Katie who has been bowling for the last 8 years has a high game of 300 and a high series of 797. While attending SFA, Katie will be pursuing a Graduate Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Katie holds a Bachelor's Degree in rehabilitation services, with a minor in psychology from SFA as well.
