Jake Gillespie is entering his first season with the Lumberjacks. Jake is a native of Aledo, Texas and attended Aledo High School.

Personal: Jake is the son to Jodi and Joseph Gillespie and the brother to Josh (brother) and Chelsea (sister) Gillespie. Jake’s family is filled with athletes, his father Joseph played football at Angelo State from 1992-96 and his mother Jodi played volleyball at Angelo State from 1992-96. His sister Chelsea cheered at the University of Tulsa from 2016-20 and his brother Josh played football at Tarleton State from 2015-16. Jake earned first team all-state safety honors in 2022 and first team all state safety honors in 2023. Jake was also a two time State champion with Aledo winning back-to-back 5A Division 1 titles in 2022 and 2023. Jake also likes to hunt and fish. During his time at SFA Jake will pursue a degree in kinesiology.
