Jacks Up Two Spots in AFCA Rankings, Hold Strong in Stats Perform Top 15

Slight movement for SFA in national rankings; six SLC teams among teams ranked or receiving votes following Week 0
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin football moved up two spots in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS Top 25 poll and held strong at its preseason nod in the most recent Stats Perform FCS Top 25. The Lumberjacks enter Week 1 ranked No. 11 in the AFCA poll and are at No. 13 in the FCS rankings.
The Jacks are just nine points back of cracking the coaches top 10. Six Southland Conference teams are ranked or receiving votes in this week's AFCA poll with five teams among the rankings in the Stats Perform poll. Additionally, Abilene Christian (No. 20 Stats Perform, No. 21 AFCA) and Prairie View (RV Stats Perform, RV AFCA) are upcoming SFA opponents to appear in the Week 1 rankings.

The Lumberjacks return home to kick off the 54th season of action at Homer Bryce Stadium and will carry an eight-game home winning streak, which dates to the 2024 campaign, into the September 5 matchup with East Texas A&M.
